We vacationed in a camper – not allowed to say went “camping”

Thanks to a good friend of the family, we were able to rent a camper for our vacation at Silver Lake! It was actually the camper that my parents owned in the 1990s, and I spent many weeks each summer touring the U.S. in with the family. It brought back a lot of memories!
For the past five years, Andy and I have gone camping in a tent. The camper was such an upgrade that Andy said we were no longer “camping!”

It was perfect for Daniel. It had two bunk beds that we were able to gate off and he slept safely. Three of the seven nights he woke up at 4 am… but other than that, he did great!

We spent the mornings at the camp site and the afternoons at the dunes. Daniel loved the sand!

While we were on vacation his first tooth broke through his gums! He didn’t complain or cry at all. It’s a sharp little thing though.

It was a great opportunity for some quality “Mommy and Daniel time”!

First off, I would like to say that Daniel is beautiful! Also, I don't know why, but I felt like I had to finally comment tonight for some reason. You are probably wondering who I am. I found your website on a facebook page right after Daniel was born. I have been following it (Ok, pretty much checking every day :-) ever since. I've also had my first child in the meantime, and I worried the whole time, thinking about what happened with you guys. I was hoping that everything would be ok, because we all know there is no guarantee about that. Everything turned out ok for us. I just wanted to say that I have seen that God has turned all those trials for Daniel (and you guys too!) in the beginning into something as beautiful as he has become! I am awed by the way you both took everything in stride and continued to trust everything would turn out great! I'm always excited to check your blog to see if there is something new!
