Sam is One Month Old

I took Sam to the doctor this morning for his one month check up. He was 10 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches long! Daniel wasn't that big until he was two and a half months old!

We've had some issues with Sam spitting up a lot, but the doctor just thinks that he over eats at times. We've also been very gassy - both of us - so I need to watch my diet :D

The first three weeks we were home, he was only getting up once during the night to eat - it was great! Over the past week & a half, Sam decided that once a night was not enough and is up at least twice.Everyone always asks me what Daniel thinks of his little brother. I think Daniel likes him - when he's not in my arms. He still just calls Sam "Baby," but sometimes calls him "Cute Baby."

Recently I've felt like I haven't been giving Sam the attention that he deserves. I feed him and cuddle with him occasionally. But most of the time that he's awake he ends up in the baby seat. When he cries, we try to pacify him and get him to sleep. I'm sure that most second time parents can relate. Maybe this is what they all meant when they told us it would be tough at first! Hopefully, we will be able to split our time more evenly in the future.

Almost Four Weeks Old!

Life seems to be becoming "manageable" again :)

Being able to pick up Daniel again has made a huge difference (to me) in our home. My recovery continues to go pretty well. I still have some pain, but am getting better every day.Daniel is still getting used to the new baby at home. He calls his little brother "baby" and likes to climb up on the furniture to get a better look at him.

Sam's Granny gave him his first real tubby a couple weeks ago. He seemed to really enjoy the warm water! He was reallllly dirty! Since then, he has taken a bath with his Daddy and Daniel, as well as a couple of showers!

Andy and I got some much needed exercise yesterday and walked the couple miles to my parent's house. This picture truly shows his Daddy skills. He has done so much for us and around the house. We couldn't have gotten through these past weeks without him!!
