Thursday was our first doctor’s appointment in three weeks – that was the longest we have gone without seeing a doctor. Everything checked out okay! Daniel was 10 lbs 5 oz – he is now 10 weeks old – and was 23 ½ inches long. His weight is considered to be in the 10th percentile and his length in the 50th, so he is going to be our tall and skinny boy.
He also received his 2 month shots. Two nurses stood over him and said, “One, two three,” and each poked him and then had one more poke. I just hate to watch him be in pain! He has to have yet another shot next Tuesday for his RSV medication (it is a drug that helps build up his immunity towards RSV and he has to receive it every month). We got home and gave him a little Tylenol and today he seems to be doing just fine.
His doctor told us that he is very strong. He can really hold his head up, both while being held and while on his tummy. And boy, is he smiling!! His smiles are so awesome!
He started sticking his fingers in his mouth a couple weeks ago and still can’t hold a pacifier with his lips.
I started back at work last Wednesday, and while the separation did make me incredibly sad, it has been really nice to be back to work. We are currently working on the plans for a national convention we will be hosting this July and it is very exciting! Daniel really enjoys his time at Granny’s house as well!
While being back to work has been great, I have had a tough time with getting enough sleep. I can’t take Daniel’s afternoon nap with him any more! This first week was pretty rough as he is still waking up every 2 – 3 hours at night to eat. We are going to try splitting up the night starting this weekend (sorry Andy, no more full nights of sleep! : )
